Three Students Abducted in Lagos School

THREE students of the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, BMJS, Ikorodu, Lagos were abducted by gunmen, who stormed school on Monday, February 29. The abductors who entered the school from behind the back, allegedly took three girls away at about 8pm on Monday.

The armed men suspected to be dislodged pipeline vandals stormed the school premises located at Agunfoye-Lugbusi village.

It was learnt that the suspects gained entry into the school by breaking the perimeter fence which served as protection for the boarding students from the thick bush surrounding it.

It was learnt that Fatai Owoseni, Lagos State Police commissioner, with a team of crack detectives arrived at the school premises at about 4:00 am on Tuesday, March 1.

Dolapo Badmos, a superintendent of Police and state command’s spokesperson, while confirming the story, said that efforts were on to track the abductors and rescue the girls.

“Yea, three female students were taken away by some criminals on Monday night but investigations are on to track then.  At this moment, we cannot give you more information but you will be briefed as event unfolds,” Badmos said.

The BMJS, a model private missionary school, was founded on October 18, 1996 by the late Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye, a most reverend.

A co-educational secondary school, the institution is owned by the Lagos Anglican Dioceses and was named after the late Thomas Babington Macaulay, a reverend, who was the founder of CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos in 1859.
