GOVERNOR Godwin Obaseki of Edo State wants to collaborate with the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, to deploy ICT and broadband penetration in his state. He assured the commission of healthy collaborative partnership in the state.

The governor, who stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the NCC in Lagos, promised to support the service providers in extending services to the remotest towns and communities. Obaseki acknowledged that the key to development is in ICT, technology and provision of telecoms infrastructure.

He, therefore, promised the commission of his support to address the challenges of the industry ranging from right of way, multiple taxation and regulation as well as community resistance to allow operators the freedom to deploy infrastructure and services within safety and compliance regulations.
