IGP attends International Seminar on Fight against Kidnapping

IBRAHIM Idris, the inspector general of Police, IGP, is Colombia attending an international seminar on the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes. The three-day seminar is taking place at Cartagena, Colombia holding from Monday, October 9 to Wednesday, October 11.

According to a press release signed by Jimoh Moshood, a chief superintendent of Police and Force Public Relation Officer, attending the seminar is in continuation of Idris’ effort to “bring an end to the menace of kidnapping in Nigeria and as well strengthen international cooperation between Nigeria and other countries of the World in the fight against Kidnapping and other violent crimes.”

Moshood said the conference would bring new impetus, ideas and experience into crime prevention and control strategies of the Nigeria Police Force in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the country.WhatsApp Image 2017-10-09 at 18.57.50

Besides, he noted: “The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes and achievements in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes since the inception of the present Police administration, under the leadership of IGP Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, mni, the need to compare notes and share ideas and strategies with other countries of the World informed the attendance of this year’s conference by the Inspector General of Police.

“The outcome of the conference will be far-reaching and will definitely improve the capacity and capability of the Nigeria Police Force nationwide in preventing, detecting and reducing cases of kidnapping in Nigeria to the barest.”
