DIRECTORATE of Agency for Mass literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, AANFE, has tasked unit heads in the agency to effectively monitor the facilitators under them to standardise their jobs.

Donatus Nwosu, acting executive director,  gave the directive to all heads in all 21 Local Government Areas, LGA, during a meeting with the unit heads at the Agency’s vocational Centre, Awka.

Nwosu explained that the aim of the meeting was to remind them of the tasks ahead — the supervision and monitoring — of facilitators to ensure quality and intellectual capacity of adult learners in the community were improved.

The AANFE boss extolled the efforts of unit heads over the mounting and distribution of the sign posts, and other instructional materials provided them.

He, then, urged those yet to distribute their allocations to do so before the agency’s monitoring would commence work.

Nwosu announced that the routine monitoring of the learning centres would commence on January 29, and then urged them to mobilise the facilitators for the exercise.

He commended Governor. Willie Obiano administration for providing enabling the environment for him and his team to accomplish their tasks.

The director also gave kudos to Prof. Kate Omenugha, commissioner for education, for her efforts in supporting the affairs of the agency and the entire education sector.

Responding,  Felicia Akabuike, unit head in charge of Onitsha North, thanked the secretary, promising that they would not relent in the discharge of their duties.

She then assured him of continued support.
