Obaseki inaugurates Committee to Investigate Edo State Polytechnic

GODWIN Obaseki, governor of Edo State, has inaugurated a seven-man committee of enquiry to investigate the activities of Edo State Polytechnic, Usen.

He charged the committee to carefully scrutinise the financial books, admission process, quality of the training programmes, lecturers, administration, the ratio of students to lecturers and come up with resolutions that will guide his administration in repositioning the institution.

Inaugurating the committee on Wednesday in the Government House, Benin City, the governor expressed confidence in the wealth of experience of the committee members and stressed that the state was in dire need of technical manpower that will strengthen critical areas of the state’s development plan.

Other areas to be looked into include the mode of employment and promotion. He gave the committee six weeks to submit its report.

Responding, Professor Rose Egonmwan, committee Chairperson, thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in them and assured him that they would work round the clock to carry out the assignment.
