TONY Nnachetta, Anambra commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy has assured that Governor Willie Obiano would engage qualified teachers into primary and secondary schools in the state. He said this while briefing newsmen in his office February 21.

Nnachetta explained that Obiano was committed to ensuring that Anambra schools system had the best hands to nurture children, especially in this computer age.

He noted that some well qualified, but retired teachers in some special subjects, would be re-engaged through some special arrangements to be worked out by the appropriate agencies in the education sector.

Fielding questions from the newsmen on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, `Umunya axis’’, with regards to the coming rainy season, he said an alternate route with a bridge would be ready soon for motorists, courtesy of Obiano.

The commissioner added Obiano would tackle more roads in Anambra this time.

He emphasised that, if the federal government had offset the N48.3 billion owed the state from previous road construction works, the state could have been in a position tackle more federal roads requiring reconstruction.

On issue of herdsmen/cattle colony, Nnachetta said Anambra had never given any part nor any sub-part to anybody as cattle colony.

On rent of patients to be used as beggars in markets, the commissioner said he was not aware of that.

He rather committed to mobilising some officers of the state and the other security arms to look into the matter.
