NiMet predicts dust haze weather for Friday

THE Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometres over the central states of the country on Friday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 35 and 9 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted that the central states would experience localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m throughout the forecast period.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m.

It also predicted hazy conditions over the coastal cities with chances of partly cloudy conditions over Yenegoa, Calabar and its environ during the afternoon and evening hours.

Southern states are also expected to experience day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 37 and 15 to 23 degrees Celcius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m over the northeast.

The Northern cities are also expected to experience day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 36 and 11 to 17 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Fresh dust has been raised over the source region in the Republic of Chad, with dust already in suspension.

“Most parts of the country are likely to experience dust haze conditions with visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000 meters.

“The coastal cities are expected to be in hazy conditions while Yenagoa, Calabar and its environs are likely to experience partly cloudy conditions within the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted. – NAN
