Anyim Pius Anyim, politician, former president of the Senate and former secretary to the government of the Federation, SGF, 57, February 19. He was born in Ishiagu, Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State. He attended Ishiagu High School (St. John Bosco); Federal School of Arts and Science, Aba, and Imo State University, Uturu. Anyim was a co-ordinator, Youth Mobilisation Programme, Sokoto State, and head, Protection Department at the National Commission for Refugees, Abuja. He was elected as a senator on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP platform in 1999 for the Ebonyi South constituency. In May 2011, Anyim was appointed as SGF by President Goodluck Jonathan.
