Nigerian government is organising the first Nigerian International Petroleum Summit awards and gala dinner for industry players in oil and gas, February 19 to 23

THE Nigerian federal government under the auspices of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and its parastatals is organising the first edition of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit, NIPS, named The Africa Petroleum Technology and Business Conference between February 19 and 23, 2018.

The summit is the largest and most important industry platform and linkage to the world where engineering and technological breakthroughs, bid rounds, bid sign-off, major contract signing and site conferences would meet other developmental and economic diversification initiatives in Africa.

According to the organisers, the first day of the summit would close with an Africa Themed Gala Dinner and Industry Awards during which industry players and partners would be recognised for their exceptional performance throughout 2017.

Besides, the ministry is driving the initiative with KPMG, an independent consultant, supported by an advisory/evaluation council consisting of senior professionals drawn from the industry, academia, media and professional bodies.

The team will help in selecting finalists for the following categories of awards, namely, technology and innovation; efficiency and cost improvement; social contribution and Nigeria content contribution. Others are HSSE; media partner; largest oil and gas syndicated loans and largest investor.

Nominations may be submitted either directly from a company (self-nomination), or from a third party via the e-portal available on http://oil-gas-awards-2017.questionpro.com/ until the 13th of February 2018. Detailed instructions are available on the nomination platform and supporting evidence/citation is also required.

The awards ceremony shall take place as follows at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 19, during the NIPS Gala Dinner at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
