THIS exposition is with deep sense of gratitude to Almighty God for the political and economic stability in Anambra State.

Looking at the development strides of the state as well as peace and harmony that exist among indigenes and other residents of Anambra State, we can say without any fear of equivocation that Anambra is truly `the Light of the Nation’.

Governor Willie Mmadubuabuchi Obiano of Anambra is undoubtedly a blessing to Ndi Anambra — a wise and intelligent administrator, good manager of resources.

Under the current administration, the state has been moving from `glory to glory’ and from strength to strength with diverse opportunities for indigenes and residents to excel in the various fields of human endeavour.

The effectiveness of security network in the state is indeed worth emulation by other states across the federation. It is a shining example to other countries of the world.

Reduction in the incidences of kidnapping and armed robbery to the barest minimum is one of the major achievements of the Willie Obiano Movement.

Indeed, no other state in Nigeria stands as its equal in this regard.

And now I begin to reflect that every true leader emerges for a reason. Obiano came into power at the time that `Kidnapping and Armed robbery’ were major challenges of the state.

“Our people hardly slept with their two eyes closed but he took a bold step and gave a fatal blow to the ugly menace,’’ noted Suzan Igwebuike, a trader at Eke Awka.

Gov. Obiano has been able to take `the bull by the horn’, based on his experiences as an astute administrator.

The good people of Anambra will ever remain grateful to the Chief Willie Obiano for such an excellent record.

“Very importantly, in the this period of economic recession in Nigeria, an average civil servant in Anambra State smiles every 25th of every month because the Governor ensures that the salaries of workers are paid as and when due `alert governor’.

Some may think that it is a common thing but when you interact with workers from other states of the federation whose salaries have not been paid for months and perceive the untold hardship they undergo as a result of non-payment of salaries you will come to recognise that Government led by Willie Obiano, deserved to be commended and supported by all the workers in the state.

Undoubtedly, these salaries were paid as a result of prudent management of limited economic resources and this is possible because a competent administrator is in charge of state affairs.

Akpokuedike as the governor widely known is a man that will never allow what happened in 2002 when salaries of teachers were owed for one year to be repeated, no matter the economic situation. He is man that has the interest of workers at heart.

Worthy of note is that the Government of Anambra State is resolute in providing qualitative education to all Anambra children at affordable rates.

This is evident in the reduction of tuition fees paid in public secondary schools. Collection of materials like machetes, hoes, brooms etc from students seeking admission into public schools has been banned by the present administration.

This was aimed at reducing the burdens on parents, who struggle under rain and sun to cater for the needs of their children.

In spite of limited economic resources, infrastructure development is not left unattended. Roads are being constructed, hospitals renovated and re-equipped.

This same thing is applicable to virtually all the schools in the state. Recently, infrastructure development has been driven into rural areas through the extraordinary intervention by the state Government.

This has been in response to hues and cries of various communities who have complained of little or no government presence in their localities.

The vision of the governor in the agricultural sector is second to none in the entire federation. “If current tempo is maintained, Anambra will emerge as the highest producer of rice in West Africa.“The health sector is also towering high under the present administration,” Afam Mbanefo noted the Commission, Mechanisation Processing and Export.

In this difficult moment in Nigeria, the lord in his infinite mercy has decided to give us a man who can effectively stem the tide in the best interest of all.

He stressed, there is the need to rally round the governor and support him for the second tenure in order to enable him to consolidate on his many achievements.

Akpokudike; Ndi Anambra are proud of you, our men, women and children are proud of you, All teachers are proud of you and all students in Anambra are proud of you.
