TENTATIVELY, Bolaji Abdullahi, former minister of Youth and Sports, has been picked to serve as the spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. However, his appointment is subject to ratification by the national executive committee of the APC.

Abdullahi’s appointment followed his endorsement by the North Central Zone of the party at a special meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, December 1.

The former minister is expected to be formally endorsed by the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, as acting national publicity secretary preparatory to his ratification during the National Convention.

Abdullahi, a minister under former President Goodlcuk Jonathan before he was sacked in March, 2014, was the sole contender for the position which was occupied by Lai Mohammed, now minister of Information and Culture.

Abdullahi like Mohammed hails from Kwara State where the position was zoned to during the last National Convention of the party.
