ANAMBRA State Commissioner for Information and Communications Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta has described the upcoming Governorship Elections in Anambra as strategic and sacrosanct.

According to him the election will determine the future of the next generation.

The commissioner said this while addressing stakeholders of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) at the Oyi Local Government Headquarters, Nteje, Anambra State.

Nnachetta noted that every election defined the way forward for the state, as future generations require good leadership to shape their ambitions in life.

“The 11 years of APGA leadership in state ensured security and attracted infrastructure development to the state and as well creating opportunities for youth to be involved in policy making’’.

The commissioner noted that decline in federal allocations to states, had adversely affected some of the projects mapped out by the Obiano administration.

He, however, assured that every project commenced by the state government, would be duly completed.

“Gov. Obiano is embarking on many projects, irrespective of the meagre resources from the FG; in the next four years, Anambra will be totally transformed and will become self-sufficient,’’ Nnachetta added.

He, however, called on Ndi Anambra to support the present administration by not only voting but guarding their votes jealously.

A former Minister for Health and member Board of Trustees of APGA, Dr Tim Menakaya expressed satisfaction at the meaningful development attracted by the state government.

However, the Transition Chairman Oyi Local Government Area, Hon Uche Okafor announced that the present administration had mapped out measures for employment of youths, urging them to visit their LGAs for their data collection.

While advising FG to respect the people’s decision, Mr Okafor enjoined security agencies to refrain from acts that could encourage electoral malpractices.
