HARRY Udu, Anambra State Head of Service, has announced plans by the Anambra State Government to set up a Creche for civil servants, particularly nursing mothers.

A crèche is a nursery, where babies and young children are cared for during working hours in the case of workers.

Udu said this in his office at Chief Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, during an outing celebration of one of his staff, Ukamaka Okoye, who was delivered of a set of triplets.

He said that the facility would be inaugurated during Governor Willie Obiano’s 100 days to mark his second term expected to hold sometime in March.

The head of service noted that the Creche would help workers in meeting up with their duties as mothers and career women.

He, then, described this as another welfare package designed by the government to reduce stress for civil servants, particularly nursing mothers.

Udu, then, prayed for expectant mothers to have faith in God while adhering diligently to their duties because providence had evolved ways of rewarding hard work.

In a remark, the Permanent Secretary, Establishment Pension and Management Services, Office of the Head of Service, Mr Tony Ezenwaka expressed his joy over the eventual arrival of the triplets after a long wait for about 10 years.

Ezenwaka, then, thanked the leadership of the civil service and the Government of Anambra for always devising means to better the lots of staff.

“By its effort, workers are obliged to ensure full dedication to their duties.’’
