THE president of Ahiara Mbaise Catholic Women organization, CWO, Felicia Nwogu was recently honoured by the youths of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish Ogbor Nguru for her doggedness and the way she has championed the cause of the catholic women of the Diocese.

At the event, Jeff Ekeji, president of the Catholic youths of the Parish, said. Nwogu, who she described as a role model, was selected based on her doggedness, huge contributions to the stability of Ahiara Diocese and also for promoting peace in the diocese even amidst the bishopric crises that has rocked the diocese for over four years now.

He described Nwogu as a very courageous woman who had amidst persecutions contributed so immensely to the cause of Ahiara diocese and also the sustenance of faith in the lives of Catholic faithful in the diocese and urged women of the dioceses to emulate and support her.

Later, Nwogu thanked the youths of Ogbor Parish for finding her worthy of the recognition and encouragement, promising to sustain all virtues that made her a beneficiary of the award.

She also promised to effectively discharged her duties as the head of the Catholic women of the diocese and also contribute her quota to the peaceful resolution of the current bishopric crises in the diocese.

Nwogu, however, emphasised that the Catholic women of the diocese were not in support of the controversial visit of the national CWO president to the St. Rose’s Parish Ihitte recently, insisting that the women of the diocese who believed in equity and justice are with the priests and the laity of the diocese who only demand a bishop of Mbaise extraction and appealed to the church leadership to quickly address the crises to save the church in the area.
