DECEMBER 31, 2015 was a day of joy and celebration for the family of Obiora and Oby Chukwuka, who celebrated 25 years of their holy matrimony. Chukwuka, executive chairman, Greenlife Group, and his wife used the occasion to gather friends, relations, business partners and well wishers together on the New Year eve to celebrate the silver jubilee of their togetherness, reminiscence of a journey that started on June 24, 1989.

Chukwuka said in the past 25 years God’s love had been the strength of the union. He said their proposal was funny because it was love at first sight. “Our marriage is totally based on God’s love because from the day we started this journey that was on 19th May, 1990, this was the day we wedded at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Orile-Coker and had our reception at Rex Hotel, Coker, God has been the lead. The union is blessed by God in different dimensions both physically, spiritually, and materially. When we look at where we started, then look around us and look at where we are today, we can see reasons to say truly we have an awesome God who blesses those that obey Him. For this reason, we are celebrating His love today.”

The celebration which started at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Nnokwa, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, attracted many prominent Nigerians including Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State; Nkem Okeke, deputy governor of Anambra State; Valerian Okeke, archbishop of Onitsha; Martin Uzoukwu, Catholic bishop of Minna; Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic bishop of Awka and captains of industries.

At the end of the celebration, the family thanked the dignitaries, especially the Catholic bishops, all reverend fathers, sisters and all ordained who made out time to celebrate with them. The family also used the celebration to mark the 93 birthday anniversary of Regina Chukwuka, their mother.
