THE argument of whether sex enhances performance in sports has come to the fore again as Romario, a former Brazilian World Cup-winning star,  has recommended it for Gabriel Jesus who is supposed to play pivotal role in Brazil’s World Cup campaign next month.

‘Have lots of good sex’,  Romario gives Gabriel Jesus unusual advice as the Manchester City ace bids to emulate him by winning World Cup. Romario apart from being a member of the Brazilian World Cup winning squad of 1994 also won the Golden Ball with his five goals at the tournament.

Jesus, who has been likened to Romario for his goal scoring instinct, is expected to anchor Brazil’s attack and hopes to emulate Romario in winning the Golden Ball.

The 52-year-old Romario gave the advice to the 21 year old Jesus in response to questions posed to him by Lance.com. He was asked for his advice for the youngster.

‘Have enough sex is one piece of advice — as is making the most you can of your days off. And, of course, you must concentrate on match days and during the games.

‘I believe Jesus is quite aware of his football and what it represents for the Brazilian nation. He has to arrive at the World Cup and score a goal. That’s the most important thing.’

Jesus has scored 18 goals in 46 games for club and country this season but has been guilty of missing lots of good chances in recent months. Romario stressed the importance of Jesus being clinical in Russia.
