AANI hails Major General Oluyede's appointment as acting chief of army staff

THE President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador EO Okafor, on behalf of the Executive Committee, National Executive Council and the entire membership of our esteemed association, has congratulated Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, SEC 36, 2014, as the acting chief of army staff, Nigerian Army, by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Okafor hailed Oluyede’s appointment as he was one of their distinguished members
in a statement by Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd), AANI national publicity secretary, November 2.
He said: “Oluyede’s appointment is well deserved as it bears eloquent testimony to his great wealth of experience as a seasoned senior military officer, commitment, dedication to duty, professionalism and deep understanding of the Nigerian Army.”
The stated added that he is also well trained, with a remarkable military career spanning various command, staff, and instructional appointments in various units and formations of the military. He has also proven his capability and resolve in the service of our nation in his various appointments the last of which was Commander of the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army.
His participation in critical military operations, both at home and abroad, has undoubtedly equipped him with a unique insight into addressing complex security challenges in this country. We are therefore confident that he will bring this wealth of experience to bear in this new appointment.
Part of the statement reads:
“Our association is delighted to note this appointment also further demonstrates the President’s continued recognition of AANI members’ leadership and potential to excel in critical positions within our national security framework and other sectors. We deeply appreciate this confidence in AANI and pledge our unwavering support to contribute positively to the progress and stability of Nigeria.
“We therefore wish to call on all officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army to unite in support of Major General Oluyede mni as he leads the Army at this critical juncture of our national history. With his knowledge, dedication, and the collective support of the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, sister services, the police, other security agencies and well-meaning Nigerians we are confident he will effectively confront the pressing security challenges in this country head-on and achieve the desired results.
“In the same vein, AANI encourages the Acting Chief of Army Staff to continue to honour the trust placed in him by upholding the values of loyalty, dedication, and excellence. We wish to reiterate that the entire AANI family stands with you and wishes you a successful tenure filled with impactful achievements.
“We also extend our heartfelt wishes to the substantive Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja NAM, for a swift and complete recovery.
“Congratulations once again Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede mni, Acting Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army and we wish you God’s guidance and all the best as you take up this onerous responsibility Distinguished!”
