MAGNUS Ngei Abe, a former senator and leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has congratulated Dakuku Adol Peterside, governorship candidate of the APC in the last election on his appointment as director general of Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, NIMASA, saying was well deserved.

In a statement signed by Parry Saroh Benson, his spokesperson, Abe said, the appointment Peterside was well received by him and his family.

The former senator said considering the importance of the maritime sector in the growth of the national economy, Peterside would be more than able to help the task of repositioning the nation’s economy.

According to Abe, Peterside has “managerial abilities, good character, dexterity, vision and impeccable honesty,” which he demonstrated while serving as commissioner for Woks and a member of the Federal House of Representatives.

“Suffice it to say that these qualities must have attracted the Presidency to repose confidence in you. I have no doubt of your ability to appraise the activities of NIMASA, plug loopholes that are conduit pipes for corruption and come up with the right vision and strategy to turn around the Agency,” he said.
