Adelabu receives defectors, says no alternative to Accord in Oyo

CHIEF Adebayo Adelabu, Governorship candidate of Accord in Oyo State, says there is no alternative party to Accord in the state comes 2023 election.

Adelabu made the declaration on Sunday during his party’s tour of Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency and official handing over of flags to the party’s candidates, where he received defectors from other parties.

According to him, there is no alternative party to Accord in the state, as it remains the party to beat in the 2023 general elections.

Adelabu had visited the constituency in company of Kolapo Kola-Daisi, the party’s Senatorial candidate for Oyo South, Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, the Director-General of Accord Campaign Council among hosts of other party leaders.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adelabu received defectors led by the Oyo South Senatorial Youths Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Rasheed Ogunbiyi.

He said that the party paraded qualified, competent and credible candidates, that stand tall among their co-contenders across the 33 local government areas in the state.

Adelabu, while introducing the party’s campaign Director-General to party members, urged them to continue intensive mobilisation of support for the party in the constituency.

In his remarks, Kola-Daisi, commended the people of Ibarapa for the overwhelming reception accorded him with their large turnout, saying it was evident that the people have decided where they belonged.

He commended the party’s candidates in the constituency for their efforts toward ensuring that the party emerged victorious in the 2023 general election.

Commenting, said that Accord party paraded brilliant, competent and highly resourceful candidates across the state.

He urged members of the party to continue to educate and mobilise supports for the party as the election approaches.

Also, Mr Oluseye Babalola, the Director-General, Kola-Daisi Campaign Council, commended the people of the area for their turnout, assuring them of maximum supports from the constituency.

Babalola also urged them not to relent in their efforts toward securing victory for all the party’s candidates in the general election.

Earlier, Elder Samuel Oketoobo, the Constituency Leader, welcome Adelabu and other party leaders to the constituency.

Oketoobo assured Adelabu of their unflinching supports to the party in the general election.

A Chieftain of the party, Mr Surajudeen Adegbite, appreciated Adelabu and other leaders for their visit to the constituency, assuring them of massive support for the party in the elections.

NAN reports that the visit also featured the inauguration of a borehole project provided by Okanlawon in memory of his late grandfather and presentation of balls to 14 football teams in the constituency.

Adelabu, in company of other leaders, presented the party’s flag to Mr David Okanlawon, the Accord House of Representatives candidate and Mr Olusola Omiyale, the state House of Assembly candidate.

He had met 20 party leaders each from both Ibarapa Central and North Local Governments that made up the constituency.(NAN)
