Advice to my children on voters registration
Africa
By Ebongabasi EkpeJuda
ARE you a registered voter? If not avail yourself of the opportunity and register now within the window of Sixty (60) days INEC has given. The queues are long no doubt. It is better to endure the queues and do it now in this widow of sixty days. Am sure, it is better to endure the queues than endure another bad government. Just set aside one day and do it. “Soro soke” on internet and on T shirts and face cap will not give us a good government if we don’t vote. Where we fail to register and vote, we will unwittingly be voting for bad government. We must vote out pathological fraudsters, otherwise we are going to ensured another round of disastrous leadership.
The fraudulent political class are banking on their belief that the youths will not endure the agony of the long queues to register and even to vote. Let us disappoint them. Endure this small pain now for a better tomorrow. This is the opportunity to show what we all meant by #Endsars. A better way to end bad government that gave rise to #Endsars and continuous ASUU strike, no electricity, no fuel etc; is to register now and vote when the time comes.
Now there is no more carry-go of balot boxes, since from accreditation to vote casting and counting will be electronically transmitted. Our votes will certainly count. Be wise register now to vote in due course.
Have you noticed that electricity in particular and all that they promised to provide have completely collapsed like a pack of cards, and they have run out of excuses. Do you remember that the said fuel subsidy was a fraud, that they will end it and repair the refineries. Have they done that? Do you have fuel as we speak. What is the value of Naira to a Dollar? When they took over it was 159 to a dollar. Today, it 610 to dollar. Do you imagine what effect that has on our lives and livelihood.
Be wise register now to vote in due course. This is our civic responsibility.
The two big political parties APC and PDP are one and the same fraud, just like a coin with two sides. Also none of the political gladiators are clean, but let us manage the less fantastically corrupt one who showed a dint of honesty some time ago. We should run away from people who have INEXPLICABLE gaps in their academic curriculum vitae and bear names they were manufactured to cover crime. They have fleece us enough and plundered our commonwealth. Like they say our momo don do.
Their next plan will be to send out touts to scare people away at Polling Booth. We should be prepared to confront them. Remember, they tried it in Okota Isolo in Lagos state and lost out fantastically. We should be prepared for them. They are mere men and not spirit. The Bible says:
“Now the Egyptians(touts) are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together”.
When they come let us arise and face them, and they will flee in different directions.
