COVID-19: Death toll in Algeria rises to 5

ALGERIAN Health Ministry on Tuesday reported a fifth death over the novel coronavirus in the country. The ministry said in a statement that the fifth victim was recorded in the Frantz Fanon Hospital in Blida province.

The victim is a 51 years old man, who suffered from multiple diseases, the ministry specified.

Medical sources announced that the number of confirmed infected cases is around 60 in the country.

In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, the government has taken measures, including closing schools, universities, sport arenas and mosques.

The government also suspended flights and sea voyages to Europe and other African as well as Arab countries.
