BENUE Government has given approval for 10 indigenes to be trained in Livestock Production, Veterinary and other animal related courses in Ireland, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Lawrence Onoja, has said.

Onoja said this in Makurdi, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state Executive Council (EXCO) meeting on Wednesday.

He said that the council approved the training after considering the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) presented to it by the Ministry of Agriculture.

He said that the council consequently directed the state Civil Service Commission to employ the people involved before the commencement of the training.

The commissioner said that the council also approved the construction of 23-kilometre Ortese-Mkar-Ashibi Road at the cost of N1.5 billion.

He said that the council further directed the Ministry of Finance to release 30 per cent mobilisation fee to the construction company for the project. (NAN)
