THE FADAMA Office in Anambra, has advised farmers, whose farmlands were submerged to consult it for expertise advice and extension services in order to salvage their crops for free.

Mr Chukwuka Egbueh, the Anambra Coordinator of FADAMA, gave this advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Awka.

According to him, any farmer, who is experiencing erosion should consult the FADAMA office in the state immediately for free advice.

He said that the Graduate Unemployment Youths Scheme (GUYS) participants had started to receive their farming kits from the state governor.

“We have agricriculture experts and extension agents, who know how to salvage farmlands from the devastation caused by erosion.

“Farmers have been told to consult these experts from our office for free in order to train them on how to avoid loss of their crops.

“Just last Tuesday, Gov. Willie Obiano started giving out farm implements to youths we have trained for FADAMA GUYS project,” he said.

Egbueh expressed delight now that FADAMA 111 was winding down, over 80 percent of the projects have been completed.

“Most of the projects we embarked upon are almost completed for the fact that Federal and State Governments were committed to the success of the farm project.

“In the next dry season, the irrigation sites will be used by farmers for massive food production,” he said. (NAN)
