ANAMBRA State government has attracted investments worth $4 billion over the last four years, a top government functionary said.

1. Don Adinuba, commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, said when Anambra State Director; National Orientation Agency, NDA, paid him a courtesy call at his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

Adinuba said that this was possible because of the relative peace enjoyed in the state within the period.

The information commissioner, who had earlier indicated his interest in partnering the NDA, said that he had very special relationship between the NDA and the ministry.

Adinuba said that Anambra was the only state craving for a development vision that could lead generations yet unborn, stressing that with the cooperation of NDA, there would be no doubts that the state would succeed.

He commended the kind of social harmony in the state, saying that peace was inevitable that the state was going to achieve Governor Willie Obiano’s vision of becoming the number one investment destination in Nigeria.

Earlier, Charles Nworji, the state Director of NDA, said that there were many things NDA and the ministry could do together, since both had always been friendly anywhere.

“They are organisations that cooperate for the common good, and that is why we are here to solicit for your cooperation,” Nworji added.

Nworji said that NDA was a parastatal under the Ministry of Information and so, “visiting the commissioner to him is like coming home.’’

He affirmed that their main jobs of the two were communicating government programmes, policies and activities.

Nworji also said that the agency served as feedback to the government on policies and activities.

The state director said that the issue of cultism was rearing its head in the state and urged the ministry to cooperate with the agency in eradicating the societal ill.

He stressed that NDA had designed three templates to manage the issue of substance abuse and cultism as well effort in improving agriculture and infrastructure development.

In a vote of thanks, Dennis Ekemezie, assistant director Protocol and Public Affairs, commended the commissioner for granting them audience, saying that the ministry was one with a difference.
