THE Anambra ministry of diaspora affairs, indigenous artworks, culture and tourism has entered into a partnership with Easy Game Nigeria Ltd., to create a `Tourist Board Game’’.

The Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, was signed in the Commissioner’s office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

The commissioner, Kenneth Anierobi, said: “The objective is to create a board game that would promote the culture and tourist attractions of the state.

“Players of the game will be able to learn of the locations of tourist facilities in the state while enjoying the game itself.’’

He noted that the game will be developed and made available to the public in no distant time.

The Director/Chief Operating Officer, Easy Game Nigeria Ltd., Nonso Gaius Anyaegbu, hinted that the game was certainly first of its kind in Nigeria and possibly in Africa.

He noted that the game will showcase the history of Anambra State, its giant strides and tourist sites.

“This project is also set to increase the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, of the state.

“The starting point of the game will be in a board and as time goes on, there will be an electronic application version,’’ he added.

The Secretary, Easy Game Nigeria Ltd, Chigozie Obiora, then stressed that the game would help to engage the youths in more positive ways.

“It is like a multidimensional game, which will cut across tourism, youth engagement and education.

“It will be a normal board game like Scrabble and Monopoly; to be based on a competition between two players,’’ he said.
