APC inaugurates caretaker committee in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, inaugurated the state Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the party pending election of new executives.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Chief Magistrate of Birnin Kebbi Magistrate Court 1, Mr Sama’ila Kakale, performed the ceremony at the Presidential Banquet Hall,in Birnin Kebbi.

In his remarks, Alhaji Bala Kangiwa, Chairman of the State Caretaker Committee, said the entire structures of the party were dissolved, following a resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC), in Abuja.

He explained that the action necessitated the formation of caretaker committees to steer the affairs of the party pending the election of new executives.

“We will arrange for inauguration of the 225 wards caretaker committee next week.

“It is time for us to work together because we are growing stronger,” he said.

Kangiwa assured that the party would set aside personal interests to work together to make sure that it continue to grow stronger across the country, especially in Kebbi.

Earlier, Gov. Abubakar Bagudu, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Babale Umar-Yauri, described the inauguration as democracy in action, expressing hope that the committee would contribute meaningfully to the unity and success of the party.

Bagudu urged members of the party to give the committee maximum cooperation in order to deliver on its mandate. (NAN).
