HAJIYA Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, on Tuesday commiserated with the families and victims of Auno attack in Borno.

Farouq, in a statement issued in Abuja by her Special Assistant on Media, Mrs Halima Oyelade, said she was saddened by the incident that claimed innocent lives and destroyed properties.

“Our deepest sympathy and condolences go to the families of the victims and to the government and good people of Borno.

“We pray that Almighty Allah grants the injured speedy recovery,” she said.

While condemning the attack, the minister noted that Sunday’s assault was a cowardly action that disregarded the rights of Nigerians to life and peace.

“The ministry will continue to work within its mandate and interface with the relevant humanitarian actors, disaster relief and security agencies to ensure that the survivors of this dastardly act are adequately catered for,” she said. (NAN)
