THE Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has granted licenses to new international money transfer operators, IMTOs, in the country. This is in furtherance of its efforts to liberalise the Foreign Exchange Market, ensure liquidity and make foreign exchange more  readily  available  to  low  end  users.

The CBN’s action is in line with the existing Guidelines on International Money Transfer Services in Nigeria (2014).

The new operators are Trans-Fast Remittance LLC, Worldmit Limited; UAE Exchange LLC; Wari Limited, Homesend S.C.R.L, and Small World Financial Services Group Limited.

The others are Weblink International Limited; Cashpot Limited; DT&T Corporation Limited; FIEM Group LLC DBA Ping Express, and CP Express Limited.

The CBN also reiterated its commitment to providing an enabling environment for international money transfer services in Nigeria, according to statement signed by Isaac Okorafor, acting director, Corporate Communications, CBN on Tuesday, August 30.
