Heritage Bank Spices Up Children’s Day Celebration

HERITAGE Bank is offering school children across the country an innovative way to celebrate the 2015 Children’s Day through what it calls ‘My Day as a Banker’ experience. The bank said in a statement that the initiative was designed to spice up the Children’s Day celebration on May 27 by making them to experience the world of bankers in a fun-filled way.

According to the bank, it is an activity holding on Monday, May 25, when selected secondary school pupils will have the opportunity of handling various banking roles such as tellers and customer service associates. Ifie Sekibo, managing director, Heritage Bank, Mr. said, ‘My day as a banker’ initiative is a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to innovation. “Children are very special to us at Heritage Bank, hence we decided to celebrate them in a unique way that offers the opportunity to have fun and learn about banking. My day as a banker is also the Heritage Bank’s unique way of promoting financial literacy among children, which is the core essence of the HB Bud Savings Account, specially designed to promote savings habit among children and youths,” he said.

Heritage Bank said it had lined up a series of fun-filled events to mark the Children’s Day celebration. It said the events would be anchored by the Zuriel Oduwole, brand ambassador, Heritage Bank Financial Literacy, the youngest child to have interviewed nine incumbent presidents.

According to the statement, the events include the ‘Treasure Hunt at School’, during which pupils are expected to locate their fairy god parents from clues designed for them and get a ticket to the Children’s Day carnival. The bank also said it would hold a Children’s Day carnival on May 27 in partnership with Inspiration FM at Dreamworld Africana Amusement Park.

It said customers with the Heritage Bank children account, ‘Bud Account’, would stand the chance to win tickets to the carnival. In line with its mission to create, preserve and transfer wealth across generations, it said Heritage Bank developed the HB Bud Savings Account to help its customers to create wealth for the children and provide them a future of financial independence.
