Baptist appoints Prof. Aremu as Chairman, Education Management Board

THE Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) has appointed Prof. Oyesoji Aremu of the Department of Guidance and Counselling, University of Ibadan as its Chairman, Educational Management Board, effective from July.

The appointment is contained in a letter signed by Rev Samsom Ayokunle, the Convention President and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Friday.

According to the letter, the three years tenure appointment will run from 2020 to 2023, in the first instance and renewable once, subject to satisfactory performance.

The letter highlighted Aremu’s responsibilities to include “formulating educational policies for the convention schools.

“To receive reports and take decisions on such reports submitted to it by the directorate of the Baptist Mission Schools.

“And to consider and approve the proposed budget among other duties’’.

The letter said that Aremu’s appointment was approved at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Baptist Convention meeting on May 23.

Until his appointment as the Chairman, Aremu was the immediate past Director of the Distance Learning Programme of the University of Ibadan.
