Basketmouth Launches Record Label

BRIGHT Okpocha, one of the most popular comedians in Nigeria, now has his own record label. The label which was launched recently is known as Baron World Entertainment.

Popularly known as Basketmouth, Okpocha has thus, joined the growing list of Nigerian celebrities with their own record labels.

The artist promised that Baron World Entertainment would cater to music production, song writing, music promotions, as well as music publishing for all acts signed to the label.

The ace comedian has already signed ‘playboy,’ his younger brother, on the label.

DAVIDO, a Nigerian singer, is leading in this year nominations at the Channel O Africa Music Video Awards. The ‘Aye’ singer is tied with South African Cassper Nyovest, “Mr Caracara” who also has five nominations.

Davido represents West Africa with his impressive nominations for the track “Aye” which dominated in four categories Most Gifted Male Video, Most Gifted Afro Pop Video, Most Gifted West Video and Most Gifted Video of the Year, while “Skelewu” earned him a comfortable spot in the Most Gifted Dance Video category.

Other Nigerians also up for the awards include, Don Jazzy, who is up for four categories. Burna Boy also shines brightly with four nominations and Tiwa Savage with two.

Olamide, Phyno, Wizkid, Jesse Jagz, Flavour, 2face Idibia, Seyi Shay, Patoranking, Kcee, Psquare, Orezi, Niyola and Dr. Sid are also in contention in various categories.

Spread across 14 categories, this year’s Channel O Africa Music Video Awards nominees are showcasing original African music from all corners of the continent. Orgainsers said the awards would be befitting to the 17-year-old music channel that has been promoting Africa’s musicians and music for almost two decades.

Voting is already taking place across a wide range of digital platforms such as the organiser’s websites and other platforms.

PETER and Paul Okoye, the multiple award winning twins of the Nigerian music industry known P-Square, have a new work in the market. The new album is titled ‘Double Trouble.’

The album which is their sixth studio album features a number of tracks such as Shekini, MMS (Mugu Money Spender) and Ejeajo which featured American rapper T.I.

With a brand new flavour and dance tunes, the album also features the duo’s collaborations with Don Jazzy, Enemy Solo with Awilo and Zombie while their hit songs Testimony, Personally and Alingo are included as bonus tracks.
