THE Late Chief Anthony Enukeme, popularly called TONIMAS has been described as a rare person, worthy of emulation, whose memory will always be in the hearts of people of the state.

These are the descriptions by guests at his burial, which took place in his home town, Umudioka, Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area, LGA.

The burial service, which was held at St. James Catholic Church, Neni, his home parish, was officiated by Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor.

The Church was built and handed over by the late Enukeme.

Delivering the sermon, Auxiliary Bishop of Awka, Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye eulogised the late billionaire for his various acts of benevolence to the Church, his community and the society.

He praised him, especially for bringing home his investments and urging the people to emulate and bring home their investments in line with the `think home philosophy’ of the present administration in the state.

Sen. Victor Umeh described Enukeme’s demise as a great loss not only to Neni community, the Church, the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Anambra and Abia States but to Nigeria in general.

“Chief Enukeme has an uncommon personality; his goodwill was boundless and can never be overemphasised. May God bless his soul with eternal rest in heaven,’’ he said.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Anaocha LGA, Estate Onyedum, extolled Enukeme for his numerous contributions toward the good of Anaocha LGA and urged members of his family to uphold his good virtues.

The Traditional Ruler of Akwaeze, Anaocha LGA, Igwe Christopher Okpala, described Enukeme as a philanthropist, who had the interest of the less privileged persons at heart, irrespective of tribe and political affiliations.

According to him, Enukeme believes so much that life is all about the people that one has affected positively and doing the best one can to better the society.

Chief Enukeme, who was the Onowu of Neni, was born on Jan. 21, 1944 into the family of Eyisi Enukeme of Umudioka Village, Neni.

He founded TONIMAS Nigeria Ltd., 1981 and incorporated it as a limited liability company in 1982 with headquarters in Aba, Abia State.
