Boakai, Weah running neck and neck in Liberia's presidential run-off vote

FROM preliminary results of 1,315 polling places or 22.33% of the total 5,890 announced on Wednesday, November 15, by Liberia’s National Elections Commission (NEC):
Joseph Boakai of the opposition UP scored 193,041 votes or 50.71%
George Weah of ruling CDC scored 187,615 or 49.29%
Valid votes: 380,656
Invalid votes: 5,420 or 1.4%
Total votes: 386,076
A simple majority is required for victory from the 2.4 million registered voters that cast their ballots on Tuesday’s run-off vote after the inconclusive 10 October first round.
