BPE's Final Verification of PHCN Staff Holds in October

VINCENT Onome Akpotaire, acting director general of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, has announced dates for the final verification of staff and retirees of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, as well as their Next of Kins NOKS, who are yet to collect their final terminal benefits.

Akpotaire, who on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Abuja, released the schedule for the exercise said it would take place in six centers across the country in Lagos, Benin, Port-Harcourt, Kaduna, Bauchi and Abuja.

He said the exercise would take place at the Lagos, Benin and Kaduna Centres from October 3, to October 7, Port-Harcourt and Bauchi Centres from October 10, to October 14, and the Abuja Centre from October 19,  to October 21. For the Lagos Centre, he said the exercise would hold at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria, NAPTIN, Benin, at the Bishop Kelly Centre and Kaduna, at the Kaduna Electric head office.

For the Port-Harcourt and Bauchi Centres, it would hold at the Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company head office and Hotel Sindaba Bauchi, respectively. The Abuja Centre would be at the Merit House in Maitama.

The BPE acting boss advised the PHCN retirees to satisfy the followings: pensioner to appear physically not by proxy; retirees verification form should be completed; original and photocopy of letter of 1st appointment; original and photocopy of letter of confirmation of appointment; original and photocopy of letter of last promotion; original and photocopy of certificate of birth/declaration of age; original and photocopy of letter of retirement; certified recent six months bank statement; beneficiary’s passport photograph; original and photocopy of letter of application for payment of pension in case of deferred pensioners on attainment of 45 years age, retiree pensioner I.D/C&B pension letter and certified bank statement (If the NOKs are more than one, the bank statement must be a joint account of the Next of Kins) from February 2014 to date.

For the Next Of Kins, NOKs, he advised them to appear in person and not by proxy, original and photocopy of letter of 1st appointment; original and photocopy of letter of confirmation of appointment; original and photocopy of letter of last promotion; The Next of Kin verification form should be completed; The Biometric Data of the Next of Kin be captured; original and photocopy of the Death Certificate of the deceased; original and photocopy of Letter of Administration; two (2) recent passport photographs of the Next of Kin; valid I.D: Driver’s License, International Passport, Voter Cards, National I.D, etc; original and photocopy of C&B letter and; certified bank statement (If the NOKs are more than one, the bank statement must be a joint account of the Next of Kins) from February 2014 till date.

Similarly, Akpotaire appealed to those for the payment of their severance to appear in person, original and photocopy of certificate of Birth/Declaration of Age; original and photocopy of letter of 1st appointment; original and photocopy of letter of confirmation of appointment; original and photocopy of letter of last promotion /increment/ regularization where applicable, original and photocopy of letter of retirement/ disengagement/engagement where applicable; certified bank statement from August 2013 to date; original and photocopy of staff Identity Card; original and photocopy of R.S.A. registration statement; passport photograph of beneficiary.

For the deceased staff, he urged the beneficiary’s to bring along the original & photocopy of letter of administration of beneficiary(s) and death beneficiary account registration statement, DBA, according to a statement by Alex Okoh, head, Public Communication, BPE.
