While acknowledging the contributions of security agencies particularly officers and men of the state Police Command in the protection of lives and property, Dickson said they have performed their duties creditably well despite the difficult terrain of Bayelsa.

The governor congratulated Amiegheme for his new promotion whose diligence over the years, has contributed immensely to the running and management of the command in his capacity as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations,” urging him to see his elevation as a call to higher service.

He assured the various security agencies in the state of government’s support to enable them function effectively in ensuring peace and stability in the state.

Dickson said, “As we work together particularly under the able leadership of the Commissioner of Police and his team, we have no doubt that moving forward, our government is on a strong foundation when we say that very soon, we will mobilize all our security assets and personnel to route crime and criminality from the four walls of our state.

“Let me use this opportunity to commend the Commissioner of Police and the entire police command for the wonderful job they are doing in our state in very difficult circumstances in terms of terrain and in terms of the general climate and yet in spite of everything else, Bayelsa is one of the safest states in the federal Republic of Nigeria.
