NIGER Delta Avengers, NDA, the new deadly militant group, at the weekend wrecked series of havoc in the Niger Delta as the blew up went five oil facilities.

This is coming after the reported ceasefire agreement between the militants and the federal government of Nigeria.

The NDA in a series of tweet between July 2 and 3, said:

“Niger Delta Avengers ‏@NDAvengers 3h3 hours ago

“At 9:15pm on Friday the @NDAvengers blow up Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Crude Oil Trunk Line to Warri Refinery.

“At 11:26pm on Saturday @NDAvengers blow up two NPDC major crude trunk lines close to Batan flowstation in Delta state.

“All five operations was carried out by @NDAvengers STRIKE TEAM. Well Done Soldiers.

“At 1:15am on Sunday @NDAvengers blow up two major Chevron Oil Wells. WELL 7 and WELL 8 close to Abiteye flow station in Delta state”

The action of the avengers occurred after weeks of inaction during which most Nigerians thought they were having meetings with the Nigerian government authorities to resolve their grievances. The federal government had ordered the military to scale down their operations in the Niger Delta to allow for negotiations.

The avengers had warned oil companies not to repair pipelines damaged by them but it appears that some oil companies whose facilities were damaged did not heed the warning and repaired them. Hence, the NDA’s current bombings.

It should be recalled that the avengers had also denied report by the Department of the State Services that it arrested some of the members. The NDA said that those arrested were the DSS sleepers who they have refused to settle.
