–

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari is to resume work today after his five-day vacation in London, United Kingdom. He returned home on Wednesday evening and was received by government functionaries at the airport.

Femi Adesina, senior special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, had suddenly announced last Friday, February 5, that Buhari handed over to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to act during his absence.

He is resuming work at a time that the 2016 budget is still being bashed by the National Assembly which said that the budget would not be passed by February 25 as promised. The legislators are of the view that the budget was based on wrong economic fundamentals, marked irregularities and discrepancies. They have advised the executive arm of government to withdraw and tidy up the budget and represent to the National Assembly.

The Budget was premised on $38 per barrel of crude oil revenue. But at present the price of crude oil at the international market has declined below $30.
