IN order to keep up with the pace of the transformation in service delivery and e-governance policy as well as embrace global best practices in the way of doing business, the Lagos State Government has introduced the e-Planning Permit platform in order to accelerate Planning Permit processing in the State.

Wasiu Anifowoshe, commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TLP, disclosed this today at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, during the Y2016 Ministerial Press briefing by the Lagos State Government in commemoration of the One Year in Office of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

He emphasised that with this development, application for planning permit by Lagosians can now be made on-line irrespective of their location, adding that the online permit system also allows users to upload design drawings and other prerequisites.

According to him, “Members of the Public can enjoy the online accelerated services towards the grant of Planning Permits for developments within the State from the comfort of their Offices and Homes by making payment of statutory fees through internet banking or other online payment platforms using Credit/Debit Cards, upload design drawings and other prerequisites as well as schedule site inspections.”

The Commissioner therefore enjoined all Lagosians, Consultants, Developers and Home Owners to visit the Planning Permit Website @ www.lagosepp.co.ng to use the secure and user-friendly Planning Permit System of the State Government.

Anifowoshe disclosed further that as part of efforts to promote orderliness in the development pattern in the state, the Ministry has processed 166 out of the 202 applications for planning information received during the period under review, while 36 are at various stages of processing, stressing that the service is free for all members of the public.

“In shaping the pattern and scope of the physical growth of Lagos State as a region, the Ministry had at various times taken into consideration spatial order, design, land use and infrastructural proposals for either immediate or future development. Virtually all areas of the State have had one form of development plan or the other except Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Ikorodu and Epe”, he said.

TLP Wasiu Anifowoshe therefore affirmed that the State Government, through the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, has awarded the contract for the preparation of Master Plans for the above mentioned areas, saying that when these Master and Model City Plans are completed and integrated with existing Development Plans of other axis of the State, Lagos would have a comprehensive Master Plan.
