THE Anambra State government has reaffirmed it’s commitment toward building strategic roads to advance development in the hinterlands.

Governor Willie Obiano said this while inspecting the level of work on the 4.11 kilometre Ogboji-Onneh-Achina-Peter University Road, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

The governor expressed satisfaction at the level of work already executed by the contractor on the project.

He, then, showed gratitude over the assurances given by the contractor on the completion of the job in the next one month.

Marcel Ifejiofor, the commissioner for Works, said the contractor had been fully paid for the job, which had already reached 75 percent completion.

Iwuchukwu Ibeneme, the managing director of the firm handling the project, commended the governor for believing in his company’s ability.

He re-assured that the job would be ready in four weeks.

Jonas Benson Okoye, a most reverend and the auxiliary bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, said the road would activate rural development and promote academic pursuits in the area.
