THE Enugu Zonal Office of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has received the nod of the Enugu Office of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, to leverage the latter’s programmes and activities within the state to heighten telecoms consumer education.

The collaboration was an outcome of a recent courtesy visit by the Enugu Zonal Office of the NCC to the NOA Enugu State Office. This is in line with NCC’s programmatic objective as contained in the 8-Point Agenda, to foster synergy, strategic collaboration and partnership with relevant federal and state Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government.

During the visit led by Emilia Nwokoro, Controller, NCC Enugu Zonal Office, the NCC team had an educated conversation with senior management staff of NOA on the rights and privileges of NOA staff as telecom consumers.

The NCC team also informed the NOA staff about the various consumer-centric programmes and other regulatory interventions the NCC is making to ensure improved service delivery to the telecom consumers in the country.

Responding, Isaac Onukwube, the State Director of NOA, expressed his delight at the visit as well as enthusiasm to work more with the Commission. He promised to invite the Commission to speak at every NOA event within the state in line with the vision of NCC for telecoms consumers.

Onukwube also requested NCC to help in the area of ‘train-the-trainers programme’ for the principal staff of the NOA across the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Enugu State. He said implementing this request by the NCC would ensure that its enlightenment programme gets across to telecoms consumers at the grassroots.
