The Nigerian Communications Commission advises subscribers to read the terms and conditions of services before subscribing to promo services of telecom providers

THE Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has advised consumers of telecommunications services not to overlook the terms and conditions for promotional campaigns by their service providers before subscribing to such services.

Often time’s services are not as good as what the promoter says and promoters hardly reveal facts that will threaten their market shares.

It is against this background that he NCC’s tweeted: “Consumers are advised to go through the Terms and Conditions for promotional campaigns by their service providers before enrolling or subscribing to services offered by the promo.”

The commission believes it is wiser and more convenient for consumers to spend some time and read through the terms and conditions for subscribing to services, no-matter how flowery the promotional campaign may be than facing heartbreak after realizing that they acted in error.

The NCC is the independent regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. Created under Decree number 75 by the Federal Military Government of Nigeria on 24 November 1992, the commission’s priority is to ensure operator provide quality services without exploiting the consumers.
