RentSmallSmall, property sourcing group, has assured tenants and property owners in Lagos of flexible payment and rent insurance on home rental solution. Tunde Balogun, chief executive officer of the group, said the company is focused on improving rental experience for tenants and reducing vacancy period and rate for landlords.

Speaking at an interactive session with the media in Lagos, Balogun said RentSmallSmall is an online rental that conveniently connects property owners with tenants using technology. He said the company is providing affordable homes, flexible stay, flexible payment, furniture and appliances rentals to the public. He assured that tenants they could find property and move in within 48 hours on the platform of the company. He also guaranteed property owners that the tenants would be screened and verified before moving into their property.

According to Balogun, the group is focused on improving rental experience for tenants and reducing vacancy period and rate for property owners. Speaking on how it works, he said property owners should sign up and give information about their property, select duration and payment plan preference at www.rentsmallsmall.com.

He said tenants could also sign in and search for preferred renting in the same website. “We are only charging eight percent of total rent unlike agents that charge more than 20 percent. I’m an entrepreneur and a passionate real estate guru that is not looking for short term gain. I relocated to Nigeria in 2015 to start this business.

“Over 130 million Nigerians live in rented properties, while 72 percent vacancy rate is recorded in upper class areas of Lagos State. And about $35 billion is annually generated from real estate business in Nigeria but it only contributes eight percent to the Gross Domestic Product, GDP,” he said.

Balogun said his business is in partnership with internationally renowned property/rental organisations and insurance companies such as:  Axa Mansard, Nedcomoaks, Estate Links, Rydal Mews Limited, Northcourt, among others.

On his part, Tayo Odunsi of Northcourt, said the arrangement is a win-win scheme for all. He said RentSmallSmall has given people the comfort of paying house rents on monthly basis and thereby, afford luxury renting in defeat of over one year compulsory renting by some greedy property owners.

Tolu Adeleke, a beneficiary of RentSmallSmall, who shared her experience with the firm, confirmed that the company’s property is affordable.
