THE Hausa Traders Association at the Oke-Odo Market in Lagos, on Thursday lauded the state Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for the ongoing reconstruction of the market.

Alhaji Idris Khalid, the Secretary of the Association, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

Khalid expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work, saying that the government was determined to adequately accommodate the traders.

“We are fully happy with the way the contractor is handling the project.

“Initially, we had fears that poor job would be done, and that we would be shabbily treated.

“However, with the way things are now, we really appreciate the quality of work and the manner the job is being done.

“Before the work started, a space was cleared for traders to do their businesses. It is a good arrangement.

“The governor has human feelings and does nothing in a rush.
“He also seeks advice from traders before embarking on any construction,’’ he said.

Khalid pledged that the traders would adhere strictly to the rules of the market.
