Butcher in court for being in possession of dangerous weapons

THE police on Tuesday arraigned a butcher, Abdul Dahiru in a Grade I Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly being in possession of dangerous weapons.

Dahiru, 18, and who lives at Gwari village Mpape, Abuja, is charged with  possession of dangerous weapon.

The police prosecutor,  Cpl. Edwin Ochayi, told the court that in Dec., 2019, the defendant was arrested for hiding a cutlass hidden in his trouser.

Ochayi said the offence contravened provisions of the Penal Code. The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Mr Salihu Ibrahim, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250,000 and one reasonable surety in like sum respectively. He adjourned the case until Jan 29, for hearing. (NAN)
