C/River State donates computer set to agency to enhance digital proficiency

THE Cross River  Government on Tuesday donated a computer set to the State’s Waste Management Agency, to enhance its digital proficiency and encourage high productivity among members of staff.

The Commissioner for International Donor Cooperation, Dr. Inyang Asibong presented the item to the agency on behalf of the government in Calabar.

Asibong said that the donation was part of the State Government’s effort to ensure all organs are digitally compliant.

She added that the computer set would help in fast-tracking the agency’s activities for effective service delivery.

According to her, the agency played a pivotal role in the State Government’s quest to maintain environmental cleanliness and public health.

“That is why it must be supported and encouraged to deliver on its mandate, ” Asibong said.

The commissioner added that Gov. Ben Ayade’s administration was passionate and committed to providing an enabling environment and necessary equipment for optimum performance of all government agencies in the state.

Also speaking, the General Manager of the Agency, Mr. Oko Sunday said the computer would assist to ensure speedy documentation of government activities and programmes.

He assured the government that the item would be put to effective use to achieve the aim for which it was meant.

Sunday added that the agency was working toward ensuring an international standard waste management procedure.

He called for the cooperation of residents in ensuring that Cross River maintained its leading position as the cleanest state in the country. (NAN)
