Catholic priest tasks Nigerians on church, nation building

REV. Fr Francis Kusah, a Catholic priest on Friday in Akwanga,  admonished Nigerians to invest in the development of the church and the nation.

Kusah who is the priest in charge of  St. Patrick Catholic Church, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, said such investment change lives and attract reward from God.

He gave the admonition while playing host to the officials and stakeholders of St. Louis Catholic Church, Ezhiba, Akwanga parish.

He noted that for the church and the nation to continue to grow, there was the need for church members, wealthy individuals, and other Nigerians to invest their resources.

The priest said that givers never lack, hence the need of his call in that direction.

“I want to appreciate you for the visit and to urge you to continue to build the church of God and the society at large.

“When you build the church and the nation, you will get a reward from God and you are also changing the lives of others positively,” he said.

Kusah further urged them to intensify prayers to God in order to overcome both families and national challenges.

“Prayer is key to success, there is the need for us to continue to pray to God to overcome our problems and the nation’s problems at large.

” Let’s us also continue to pray for the unity,  peace, and progress of the country,” the clergyman said.

He further admonished Nigerians of all faiths to live exemplary lives in order to inherit the kingdom of God.

Speaking earlier, Chief Martina Bako, the leader of the delegation said the visit was to appreciate the priest for his goodwill and the propagation of the gospel of Christ in the area.

“We are here to identify with you and to assure you of our support to the parish at all times,” she said.

Bako, a former Speaker, Akun Development Area Legislative Council also gave assurance of the church members’ readiness to continue to contribute positively to the development of the church and society at large. ( NAN)
