Chinese Panda Supermarket owner batters married woman

CHEN Yong Qin, owner of the popular Panda Supermarket (Chinese Supermarket) in Jabi, Abuja, has beaten up a Cheng Xiao Jing, married Chinese woman with kids,  smashing a glass cup on her face and left her in pool of blood.

The incident happened on September 26, at about 11:35pm when the victim told Qin to reduce the volume of his music as it was too loud and was disturbing everyone in the building including the ICAN students in the same premises who are reading overnight for their examinations.

Realnews gathered that the owner of Panda Chinese Supermarket immediately smashed the glass of wine he was holding on her face which caused her several injuries on her face and body.

When the woman fell down Qin kicked and punched her several times in the pool of her blood.

She was rushed to the Nigerian-Turkish (Nizamiye) Hospital at Idu industrial layout, Abuja, where she was admitted and receiving treatment.

Realnews learnt that the woman’s husband, Yang Yang, who had travel to Jos, Plateau State, came back a day after the incident and reported the matter to the Utako Police Station, in Abuja.

The Nigeria Police Force swung into action, arrested the assailant and detained him for about six hours and released him after they visited the scene of crime and the victim at the hospital.

Realnews gathered that the suspect is very influential in Abuja, and has about five Mobile Police escort accompanying him as he goes about his activities.

He was arraigned on September 29, before Justice A.S. Yahaya of the Area Court, Kado, Abuja, for the offence of causing grievous body harm. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. The bail conditions are one surety with two passport photographs, N500,000 in like sum. In addition, the surety must be resident in Abuja within the jurisdiction of the court.

The case, which has H.M. Ramalan as the defendant’s counsel and Emmanuel Eze, as a prosecutor, has been adjourned to the October 16, for hearing.

Realnews gathered that the police collected all the blood-stained clothes of the victim as an exhibit which will be tendered to the court during prosecution.
