CIoD President Borodo emerges acting Chairman, Signature Bank

ALHAJI Tijjani Borodo, President, the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD), has been appointed acting Chairman, Board of Directors, Signature Bank.
Mr Bamidele Alimi, the Director-General, CIoD, made this known via a statement on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said the development followed the retirement of Dr Mutiu Sunmonu, Chairman, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, who provided invaluable stewardship to the bank during its formative two years.
Alimi noted that Sunmonu’s leadership played a pivotal role in guiding Signature Bank through its start-up phase, positioning it for future growth and success.
He said the appointment of the current CIoD President; Borodo brings with him over 40 years of cognate experience which spans through banking and legal practice.
According to him, Borodo is widely respected for his legal expertise and leadership in corporate governance.
He said his distinguished career spanned across fellowships at the Chartered Institute of Directors (Nigeria), Society for Corporate Governance Nigeria.
Others are the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Nigeria and the National Institute of Credit Administration.
“In addition, Borodo is an active member of the International Bar Association, Nigeria Bar Association, and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
“He is the Principal Partner at Tijjani M. Borodo & Associates, a top-tier law firm with offices in Lagos and Abuja, where he has built a reputation for excellence and integrity in legal services.
