…appeals to registrants to utilize the opportunity.

CIVIL Liberties Organization CLO Anambra State branch has commended Independent National Electoral Commission for harken to the demand of Nigerians for extension of period for collection of PVC by registrants.

It will be recall that CLO has been in the forefront in demand for extension of deadline for PVC collections in view of complaints by many registrants yet to collect their PVC.

This is contained in a press statement issued to newsmen endorsed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme chairman and Comrade Chidi Mbah Secretary tagged “when a leader is right be with him, if he is still right stay with him, when he is wrong advice and criticise him constructively for the interest of the masses and the country.

INEC is absolutely right in extending voters card collections because it is no longer news and new that many registrants especially in the southeast are yet to collect their PVC due to difficulties encounters by registrants.

The INEC officials should address all the complaints, difficulties, predicaments  and lamentations encounters by registrants especially in southeast so that the extension will achieve the aims and objectives of INEC in extending voters collections.

Citizens should properly and adequately utilizes the rare and unique opportunity provided by the extension to collect their PVC.

They should be alive to their civic rights and responsibilities and report to security agents anyone demanding monetary inducements or gratifications before voters card collections.

The federal government and INEC has made it as crystal as clear that registration and collections of PVC is free throughout the country without exception.

It is incumbent upon the citizens to help government in that regard by reporting those violating government directive to the appropriate authority.

Remember your vote is your power, your complaints about bad leadership can only be corrected with your vote not with destructive criticisms.

We equally appeal to INEC to rekindled people’s hope and faith in the electoral process by ensuring free, fair, peaceful, credible and generally acceptable elections,in which outcome reflects the wishes and aspirations of the majority of the electorate CLO posited.
