Coronavirus Pandemic

AN NGO, Caleb Danaladi Foundation has donated food items, face masks, and hand sanitizer to widows in Kaduna State to cushion the effect of COVID-19 lockdown.

The Founder, Capt. Caleb Danaladi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that the donation to widows in Kobin Community of Sanga Local Government Area was aimed at ameliorating the plight of the less privileged.

Danladi noted that the organisation had made similar donations to widows and orphans in Zaria, Jaba and Chikun in Kaduna South Local Government Area of the state.

“We are distributing these food items to ensure that those who cannot afford daily meal as a result of the ongoing lockdown are taken care of.

“And we are particular about the widows and orphans in the villages because many of them are daily earners and it may be hard for them to make both ends meet during this lockdown,” he said.

He, therefore, advised the public to adhere to the guidelines and preventive measures as directed by the government and experts to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Danladi said the foundation would extend similar gesture to other local government areas in the state.

He, however, expressed concern over the effects of the pandemic on food production, which he said the foundation would donate fertiliser to farmers to increase yield. (NAN)
